Happy new year! Okay, so a little late in the day, as indeed was my first run of the year which took place only yesterday but was so worth the wait. 7km of pure, snowy, sunny trail bliss:
Just as I get back into gear, so too is Canmore Trail Culture which is starting the new year right with what will be, i’m sure, a great night out. If you’re in or around Canmore next week mark your calendar now: Friday, Jan 15th, 7.00pm at artsPlace for this:
There’s a slideshow presentation by Todd Weselake and Steve Shannon including stories and photography from an October 2015 self-supported bikepacking trip through the diverse cultures and environment of the Nepalese Himalayas. This is followed by a showing of Kilian Jornet’s latest Summits of My Life film, Langtang (trailer on Vimeo here). There’s also a silent auction with lots generously donated by local businesses.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at artsPlace or through their website. And if all this is not awesome enough, all proceeds from the event will go to Doctors Without Borders.
